Vietjet Air, Grab, and swift247 signed an MoU on comprehensive cooperation on August 7.
The MoU aims to develop solutions for connecting road and air travel to customers across Southeast Asia and at the same time provide super express delivery services in Vietnam. The strategic partnership also marks the first cooperative arrangement between Vietjet and Grab, the leading super app in Southeast Asia, with the aim of offering the Vietnamese market the best quality services and bringing the greatest benefits to customers and the community. With technological solutions from Swift247, Grab and Vietjet will be able to connect air flights with road transport for super express delivery services.
In the first phase, Swift247 customers will be able to deliver goods quickly via GrabExpress delivery services on the Grab platform and Vietjet aircraft within five hours between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Customers can track the delivery on a website and the Swift247 app.
The three parties look forward to the ability to integrate Swift247’s services into the Grab open platform to bring convenience and service access to their consumers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, President and CEO of Vietjet Air, said it believes the partnership will result in changes in the local delivery market and create a unique experience for consumers while meeting rising demand for delivery services. “We are witnessing a partnership between an airline with the largest number of domestic passengers in Vietnam and an e-hailing app with the most extensive driver partner fleet in Southeast Asia and a next generation startup,” she added. “This is also a new step on the path to becoming a ‘Consumer Airline’, providing all types of services consumers of Vietjet need.”
Mr. Jerry Lim, Country Head of Grab Vietnam, said the strategic partnership with Vietjet and Swift247 is the first step for Grab to have deeper cooperation with Sovico Holdings, one of the leading conglomerates in Vietnam, to bring more value-added services to people around the country. “The strategic partnership with Swift247 and Vietjet proves our strong commitment to investing more towards the digitalization of transport infrastructure, helping local enterprises expand regionally and to develop home-grown startups,” he said.
Mr. Tommy Nguyen, a representative from Swift247, believes that with Vietjet’s wide range of air routes to domestic and international destinations and Grab’s unicorn position and extensive driver partners and user base, customers will be able to experience a convenient and reliable delivery service supported by technology.
